Kant’s World

Hello all, as you can see, this is an image of the night sky, with a full moon and stars in the sky, although my camera is very poor quality and the stars do not show up. The philosopher Kant says that the starry heavens fill him with awe and wonder, as does his very own moral law, but it is more difficult to take a photo of my moral law than it is the night sky, so I chose to take this picture of the moon. I have yet to meet anyone who is not interested in gazing at the stars, it is a romanticized activity that is in countless films and books. It goes without saying that everyone is filled with wonder as they look into the sky of stars whose light shone light years ago, but the next step to enlightenment is to gaze at our own moral law and find it as fascinating as the stars.

“Two things fill the mind with ever-increasing wonder and awe, the more often and the more intensely the mind of thought is drawn to them: the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me” – Immanuel Kant
